Inside The Explorer Compass
The Explorer Compass features considerable headroom throughout - 1.95m - and has sleeping accommodation for up to 4 people with two double berths - one in the overhead bed and the other when the dinette is converted into a bed.
One of the main features of using the ute base for our motorhome
is the lower entry to the overhead bed. No large ladder required! Just
one step is enough to gain easy entry to the large open area with sitting
headroom of 850mm and a bed which measures 1350mm x 1950mm. Opening windows
at each end of the overhead bed with built in flyscreens offer good ventilation,
with more air circulating through two roof vents when required.
Lightweight plywood joinery (NO MDF as this will swell) is used for the
cabinetry, and the honey tones of the maple finish enhance the sense of
airy spaciousness created by the open layout with large windows.
Cooking when travelling is always part of the holiday experience and the Explorer
Compass is more than capable of cooking up the most delectable meals with a
3 burner cooktop with full oven and grill, microwave oven and 80 litre fridge with
freezer compartment. The glass top sink with hot/cold mixer and flip up bench
extension help take care of the cleaning up. The sink and cooktop are fitted
Other features in the galley include a slimline range hood and a generous array
of overhead lockers, drawers and cupboards to keep all the food and cooking utensils
stored safely when travelling.
The toilet/shower cubicle is fully moulded for easy cleaning and is
well ventilated with a side window and with a translucent door is light
and airy (880 x 670mm). The toilet is the latest pivoting Thetford cassette
system. The bathroom also contains a corner vanity with extension
shower hose with a separate locker opposite for toiletries.
A fresh water tank built under the floor holds 85 litres and is positioned
low to provide stability and maximise interior space. The grey water
waste tank is also positioned low and holds 80 litres and is fitted with
tank monitors. All Explorer Compass motorhomes come certified as self-contained.
Outdoor storage lockers are always in demand when travelling and the Explorer Compass rear boot locker is particularly spacious (1950mm long x 420 deep and 530 high). It’s big enough for two golf sets and with the side locker door fitted on the passenger side, storing fishing rods and skis is no problem either..
